not very clear about the last sentence. you need to tell what about the agenda you look forward to.

Reply:The first sentence didn't make very much sense to me. when you start to say " we want to know the description...", I think you should put a period before that, and start it as a new sentence, and instead of saying " we want to know", you should say, "we would like to know", or something like that. put a period after "Mr." when you say "Mr. Rich".

i used a 5 point likert scale. i got the results of my survey but now i am at lost as to how to interpret these data.

Well you can do a couple things. You can plot the answers on a graph which will show you clusters of responses. You can do averages for responses on all your questions. For example the average answer for question three was 4 on the likert scale. Without anymore information it's hard to give a more detailed response. Find someone who is a statistics whiz and run ANOVA on it. (analysis of variance)

How to put PDF tables into MS Word?
I have a lengthy pdf of some survey results that are heavily formatted. Is there any way I can move it into a word document without losing the formatting? Is there a way to just make it into an image I can put into Word?

You need Adobe Pro first of all, with that, open up your PDF then save as TIFF. Next, open the TIFF file back up in Adobe Pro and hit Advanced %26gt; Export All Images. Finally, drag and drop each image into your Word document.

I am doing some research about whether or not internet surveys represent the population evenly, or if they are prone to sampling errors. Post a link to an internet survey, already with results, that you feel has a sampling error. For example, one where men are misrepresented because the web site is catered toward women.

Ceramic Tile In Living Room?
I'm thinking about putting ceramic tile in my living room. I just want to know if anybody has strong opinions, one way or the other, as to whether or not ceramic tile is really the right flooring for a living room. Basically, I want to know if it will be good for resale. Links to home design survey results, with related questions, would be helpful.

Absolutely not. You want a living room to be soft, comfortable, floors that are warm and inviting, and ceramic tile is the exact OPPOSITE. Good carpet or hard wood are good choices for living rooms. Ceramic tile can be way too cold in the winter time and it just really doesn't look right.
Let me put it to you this way... I would never buy a home with ceramic tile in the living room, and I would really wonder about the sanity of whoever decided to put it in.

Reply:The weather where you live is an important consideration. No matter where you live I would install a heated flooring system (like Warmly Yours)--this is a mesh that rolls out on the sub floors %26amp; tile is laid right over it. It is really quite inexpensive as well.
Where I live, west coast, tile %26amp; stone floors through out are very "Hot". We use more unusual shapes like 24 x 24 inch tiles and the large "brick" shapes (12 x 24) etc, with minimal (no) grout line and non-rectified edges (straight edges). Think "Metropolitan Home". However, in your area this may not be a trend people like if your area is more traditional. Do not skimp on tile quality if you are going to do this throughout. Many areas traditionaly used tile (Mexico, Spain, italy etc) as carpet is a very recent invention.
Hardwood is always a good choice too, almost no one dislikes hardwood.

Reply:I have some input on this one. I tiled my entire house with the exception being 4 of the 5 bedrooms that I carpeted. I layed my living room tile on a "45" .. 45 Degree angle to the walls. ( Looks like diamonds even though the tiles are still square). I did this because I didn't want a big square grid in the largest room of my home. I would suggest a 45 or a brick pattern or even a pattern in a pattern for a large area. The only draw back that I found was the difference in noise in other parts of the house. I never would have guessed that carpet absorbed so much sound. I wound up buying a 12x20 foot piece of carpet that was the same as the bedrooms and had it backed and hemmed ( thus making a area rug out of it) It helped out with the noise problem. I can no longer hear water from the kitchen while I'm in the back office. Tile is great and you can be as creative as you want with it. It is very easy to care for and keep clean, doesn't hold allergens, and is nice and cool in the summer. ( It's a bit cool in the winter too...) I'd do it the same way again if had too...Good luck !! In warmer climates, like Florida and southern California, ceramic tile is quite popular because it is cool and easy to clean. But if you were in a colder state it might be very unpleasant and even could hurt the resale value of your home. If in doubt, ask a good real estate agent in your community... they will know.

If you live in a climate where it gets cold half the year I don't think you should do it. But if you do decide to tile in a cold climate I would go for the kind of tile that looks like hardwood. I just saw some today and it is beautiful. I would also spend the extra money and heat the floor but only if you live in a place where it gets cold. I would love to know what you decide and I personally like the idea.

It gives the living room and uncomfortable temporary stay kind of feeling. A living room is suppose to be a warm inviting place not a place with cold hard floor. I will detract resale because it will be uncomfortable and give the room a cold feeling but it is also hard to take out
