Survey: Do you ponder with amazement the anomalous results of your "love efforts?"?

What about being asked to pay the cleaning fee to get the silly string out of the Batman costume I rented is anomolous? A man has to have a social life, you know.

Survey: Do you ponder with amazement the anomalous results of your "love efforts?"?
No.
Reply:emotions make us do stupid things?
Reply:I ponder in amazement how normal the results are (normal meaning - consistently great and fulfilling.) considering I never thought I wanted to be in a serious relationship that early in life (23). I always figured I would sabotage it somehow... but he just keeps loving me no matter what, the sucker.
Reply:Hahaha MY love efforts are abnormal?

I don't know about that but those abnormal efforts do amaze me to say the least.

I am sooooo amazing!

YES ! YES ! YES !

ME WONDERFUL ME
Reply:no,,but since your asked, I am now even more depressed.
Reply:I don't make any efforts to fall in love, so no.
Reply:yes, i do actually. i mean just how many times can you get it wrong?
Reply:My love efforts include, but are not limited to, cleaning out closets and putting two towels in the bathroom. I am now aware of where I am going wrong with my whole system of thinking. It's the fcking basement!!!! If only I had known this before, it could have saved me a lot of wasted heartache.

Is it sad that I'm serious? Is that weird? Because I don't think it is.
Reply:No, I pretty much expect the results to be anomalous.
Reply:Erm... no.
Reply:no, never even thought about it
Reply:I want to know what love is; I want you to show me--then follow what ever her heart desires.

Has anyone signed up at, Express Paid Surveys, and what were your results?

I was wondering if this is a legit website and if a person could make some money without a lot of hassles.

Has anyone signed up at, Express Paid Surveys, and what were your results?
ameriplan is not a hoax. it isnt a take survey website either u have to work for it but it does add up.

go to http://www.deliveringonthepromise.com/Tr...

or contact me at boey09@hotmail.com for questions u will have

i am happy to help
Reply:they are all a hoax, don't wast your time.
Reply:I signed up at several survey websites a while ago and it was a mistake. You get a lot of spam, the only "payment" you get is to be entered into drawings, you spend a lot of time filling out surveys, and you get nothing. Don't waste your time.

Amazon Mechanical Turk can make you real money, but not very quickly. Honestly, if you're looking to make some cash, do babysitting or get a part time job. The websites don't pay well enough to make it worth your while.

On a survey of most competive sport they used results of 5 pro sports what is the sample and target population

for statistics

On a survey of most competive sport they used results of 5 pro sports what is the sample and target population
your question is unclear. Who is "they" and where did 'they' conduct this survey.

Anyway - the sample size is the number of people who actually took the survey, and the target population is who the sample should be representing.

For example, let's say that that in this case 100 males between the ages of 13-19 were surveyed. Your sample size is 100 and your target population is teenage boys.

Survey for research paper -- Please answer so I have results!?

What is the first thought that comes to mind when you think of the phrase "Needle Exchange Program"?

What do you believe Needle Exchanges do besides exchange contaminated syringes for sterile ones?

Do you think needle exchange programs are helpful in fighting HIV/AIDS?

Survey for research paper -- Please answer so I have results!?
I know for a fact that at my facility, it is for anyone that uses needles. Diabetics, anemics, cancer patients, or drug addicts.

They can bring in their used needles in a container that is puncture proof, and we will give them new needles and a bio-harzard sharps container.

The reason this was put into effect was because drug users, or medical reasons, patients were using needles over and over because the cost, or they are drug addicts and can't just go buy needles to use.

This cuts down on infections, disease spreading rates and allows us to get rid of them the proper way, instead of people throwing them in the regular trash and someone else getting stuck either while going through the garbage, or at the dump. Or really anywhere inbetween.
Reply:I think the needle exchange program is helpful because who would want to reuse needles?
Reply:I associate needle exchange programs with intravenous drug users.

I assume that people are given general health advice %26amp; drugs counselling along with the new needles.

Yes, I think it really does help to fight HIV %26amp; AIDS, as well as hepatitis, blood poisoning, etc.

A good idea all round.
Reply:My first thought is that it encourages drug use by providing clean needles for drug users. Your second question is answered by my first answer. The exchange program may in a small way be helpful in fighting HIV/AIDS but it is counterproductive in fighting drug abuse.
Reply:This is not done in India. All hospitals send it to burn.
Reply:- a needle

- recycle old ones to make them steril again

- idk i have never even heard of needle exchanges
Reply:While I do not support IV drug use I would hate to know people are sharing needles. So if they must "use" it's good to know with HIV.. they can have a safe "haven" for drugs.

I think it helps fight HIV yes. But I do not thing it helps a druggie it enables them. However if it is one less thing they deal with, so be it.
Reply:Needle exchange - an excellent idea for many reasons. Take the used needles and syringes from drug abusers and give them a fresh safe needle. They safely dispose of the used/contaminated syringes. It save the used syringes from ending up in parks , playgrounds, school yards and kiddie land at McDonalds. Children pick them up , step on them or fall on them. They don't need to be infected with any of the horrific diseases that these needles carry.

Hopefully when the user comes in to exchange the needle there is someone there to talk to them to get them off drugs. A freindly, knowledgeable , probably ex user, who knows the horrors this kind of life holds.

If these exchanges are careful and get the trust of the users, it will definately help lower AIDS.
Reply:I've never heard of it, but when you first say that, I think of needles from syringes getting swapped and contaminated. I don't know what else they do. And last but not least, I have no clue.
Reply:entrapment. addicts dont trust... paranoia is a side effect of being a wasteoid
Reply:Why Cant diabetics take part? prevents kids from picking up the needles yes here is another Question you may want to pursue,, Vancouver B.C. has a safe inijection site,, Your thoughts on this ..
Reply:#1. I think of denmark (i think it's Denmark) where they exchange needles for i.v. drug users

#2. I think it may encourage further use of drugs in some limited situations.

#3. Yes i think it is helpfull in the prevention of Hiv Aids as those who are Hiv pos are often depressed and lonely and more than that probably are full of despair and may not care about their fellow human beings and even may wish harm to

their fellows if they contracted the condition from

from someone who did not disclose it to them.

You can use many of the free services like survey monkey or you can use PHP scripts to handle the form. It is fairly easy to do.

I made a survey of a school asking: How Safe Do You Think Your School Is? What info can be taken from this?
Perceived safety in school affects the ability to learn. For example, you could compare the data to standardized test scores with the hypothesis that the safer the school the higher the test scores.
Reply:I would think people could get alot of information on how safe the whole area tends to be.

If you win a property at auction can you back out if the survey is bad?

Thinking of buying a house at auction but do they allow you do have a survey done after you win it and can you cancel the sale if the survey comes back with poor results?

Or do you have a survey done first which will cost with no guarantee that you will win the auction?

If you win a property at auction can you back out if the survey is bad?
It's your responsibility to check all is to your liking before the auction, even arranging (and paying for) your own survey if required. An auction is binding, %26amp; the chances of 'pulling-out' of a sale are very slim. In the event, you'd need to prove that any information provided by the vendor beforehand was misleading, which would be very expensive, %26amp; possibly libellous.

At the very least, your own survey would be money well spent. I personally wouldn't spend £££££ on a property without one..

Hope this helps. :)

Survey: what do you think of the latest NH poll results?

This page summarizes the latest results from multiple polls:

Survey: what do you think of the latest NH poll results?
It is my sincere hope that people really watched the debates, go to the candidates web sites and listen to the full speeches of the candidates, rather than voice their opinions based on sound bites, headlines, "polls" and poli-spin.

After actually watching the debates for both parties last evening, my view of what actually transpired is very different from what is making it in the "news".

The polls that you linked to seem to echo the headlines. As a transplanted New Englander, I sincerely hope that our New Hampshire neighbors are smarter than what is reflected by those who would influence their free thought and choice.
Reply:Obama should be winning. The Clinton model of smear your opponent is dated and the liberals of today cannot stand that, especially the young people.

I am not surprised that McCain is leading. He is a big RINO and is no conservative. NH likes that. They are a rogue state. He won there in 2000 against Bush.

Romney is in the lead with delegates and will still be after he finishes second. He will take it all.
Reply:Dissapointing,,

The only 2 ppl with any integrity...

Duncan Hunter and Ron Paul,,,are not movin forward
Reply:If Hillary keeps trending downward at this pace, she's going to be fourth in NH.
Reply:why are suoffolk and zogby showing clinton and romney, when all the others are showing obama and mccain. coincidnce? or a little bias?
Reply:When we vote for the best person for the job we get a different result than when we think we know who is going to win. Polls are manipulative.
Reply:Well, I think they show only that Obama has an edge on Hillary.

Of course because of the margin of error, turnout, a large number of undecided voters, and the fact that Independents can vote in either primary in NH it could very well go either way.

But Obama has a clear advantage right now. Same with McCain on the Republican side.
Reply:Well i dont really think that polls should be given much thought since there only out of like 1000 people but it looks about what i thought it would be. Just have to wait and see how it turns out.
Reply:in new hampshire they get it right only 50 percent of the time -the other times are total surprises -so you can pretty much take the polls and throw them in the garbage
Reply:Rasmussen has Paul at 14% . They are a reliable source. Thats the Poll site i use most and they had him at 7% not too long ago.
Reply:Real Clear Politics site is pretty good at being the balanced as they can. Look for the trends here.
Reply:I dont belive in any kind of poll.

If you survey faculty in American universities, are the results applicable to the rest of the planet?

If a survey of faculty members from "elite" American universities revealed that a majority of them believed in god, does it naturally follow that all scientists the world over share their views?

Of course not. There could be 10, or 100, or 1000 atheist scientists for every theistic faculty member. This is why you can't draw broad sweeping conclusions from TWO STUDIES.

Learn to UNDERSTAND statistics, and not be tricked by the clever use of words. It's called MANIPULATION people!

If you survey faculty in American universities, are the results applicable to the rest of the planet?
not likely
Reply:A lot of these questions are rhetorical.
Reply:Of course we believe in god as a force evolving humanity towards unity and diversity. I know of no intelligent people that believe in the God that sent his son to die for all the good people..... that is a joke,,,,,

He said satanic....lol... you know he is sheltered....

Satan is synonymous with "temptation towards selfishness"

All evil is done in the name of selfishness... get it?...lol

there is no devil tempting you..... only your own greed which will get your soul sent to purification,,,,,
Reply:Thanks for the FYI! An unselfish act should not go unnoticed.

Peace..........
Reply:No, the rest of the planet is not American. American doesn't have universities, it has colleges. (Ivy League notwithstanding)
Reply:I was made to understand that you insist on your belief about the non existence of God as the atheist scientist told you or have read ab out it. and you mean to say that you are the only man who know and understand what is statistic. a very big applause for you. Do you know that science is science believe it or not? so to God. Lets now go to a conclusion. Believe what you want to believe and we will believe what we want to believe. No more no less, OK
Reply:my personal opinion is that most faculty do not believe in God.

if they believed in God they would get fired because the public school system is saturated with Anti christian and satanic and Idol worshipping bastards who want to get a paycheck rather than stand up for the gospel of christ.

How can I not qualify for a bank teller position because of a SURVEY?

Well, I recently got a call from Bank of America asking if I was still interested in their opening position as a bank teller. And they felt that my resume, my past work experience, along with my skills were very strong in most areas. And they asked if I could take a survey to see if I qualify for the position. I answered all the questions honestly and they were all great answers. I am a very outgoing person, love meeting new people, a people-person and I can deal with many customers throughout the day. I still can't see why they would tell me that I do not meet their qualifications. I was very shock when i got the results and I started to worry, thinking why wouldn't I get chosen? I am not use to failing, especially not from a test that has nothing to do with english, math, and so forth. It was a personality test, and I felt that my personality would best be suited for the job. Can anyone give me some advice?

How can I not qualify for a bank teller position because of a SURVEY?
having a lot of experience in interviewing people for jobs, i suspect you had a lot of strong competition for the job. sometimes it is hard to choose between two qualified candidates.

it is permissible to ask your interviewer for feedback so you can address any improvements you may need to make.

The recent Pulse Asia Survey says Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is most corrupt. Do you agree?

Do you agree with the survey results? Why and why not? Do you think former Presidents like Joseph Estrada or Ferdinand Marcos are as corrupt, more corrupt or less corrupt? Why?

The recent Pulse Asia Survey says Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is most corrupt. Do you agree?
I disagree, because i think surveys are nmot reliable of course even we dont admit it, some of us just follow what does other say, and of course there are people who shows only the bad side of gloria, well we must not be biased and of course hello!!!! philippines is still a big country we are all apart from ecah other, and of course gma is not only ther problem but also the people below her. we must not put the all the blame to her and ask ourselves at one time what had we done for our country? for me the former presidents are more corrupt, it shows...
Reply:Surveys are never correct. Who the hell is Arroyo and Estrada? F. Marcos died years ago. Are you saying Islamic terrorists have taken over the Philippines?
Reply:i don't know.. i never liked Estrada anyway....but oh well, no matter who the president is or will be...he or she will always be scrutinized and criticized...i stopped thinking about Philippine politics coz it exhausts me..now i'm looking forward to the U.S election...lol
Reply:all i can say is that all of them are corrupt just in different ways.
Reply:I'm agree with you because that our President is most corrupt that ever for almost 6 going to 7 years on January next year and that's why she didn't to face it about of her problems in our country and even she didn't to face it of all accusations against her like Hello Garci controveries etc. and she didn't to resigned it to of her position as the President of the Philippines and unlike Estrada,Aquino,Marcos she is the worst Philippine President all the time and because of our country that The Philippines is the most corrupted of all the Asia Countries and we will hope that the next of our President should to be able to do it of their responsibilities and duties and being helpful to the fellow Filipino people if we will having things that we will needed and being less of having a graft and corruption and lots of our problems in our country

When should you demand that there is a recount done on the results of a survey or poll?

I just saw that they announced the 100 Most Beautiful People and not one of us seniors made this list. I think it's fixed and would like to protest by demanding a recount. I know at least one of us should have made the list!

When should you demand that there is a recount done on the results of a survey or poll?
I was just hired to write a news release announcing the 100 Most Beautiful seniors on Yahoo! Answers and guess what...we are ALL on the list!
Reply:Well Gladys........if anyone on here deserves that, it's YOU for sure. You are one of the sweetest, loveliest, honest, funniest senior I have ever "met". There are many wonderful people on seniors, but you have to be on top of my list. You have my vote and please take this star as my vote.
Reply:a survey is mostly just a random sampling of the public opinion. what good would a recount do if you are only re-counting the opinions of the same people ?

the only person that i would consider putting on this list is "Ann Margret"
Reply:Because I wasn't asked for my opinion, and I'd bet you were not either, nor anyone else in Seniors. It's a sham I tell you, a sham!! Now all we need is a good protest song.
Reply:I remember a few months ago when we voted you the Queen of Senior Category. You know you are the Queen of our hearts!

Who cares about their Poll any way.

Is there a survey building software that will save the survey as a file I can put on my own website?

I need to find a piece of software that will run on my computer and let me create a survey that I can put on MY website. It could save it out as an ASP file or something. Software that will let me use my OWN database to store the results. I don't want one of those websites that let you create surveys and lets you send a link out to all your friends. I need something with more control. Anyone know of anything?

Is there a survey building software that will save the survey as a file I can put on my own website?
There are lot of Portfolio mgmt web based applications available.. one that can he checked in for customising is TeleLogic

Sample survey the result of a sample survey shows that out of 500 litrate people ,350 are employed whereas out
H0: No difference in employment between illiterate and literate people

H1: Not so

Sample 1 proportion x1/n1 = 0.5833

Sample 2 proportion x2/n2 = 0.52

Pooled proportion pi= (350+260)/(600+500) = 0.5545

Varaince of difference in proportions = pi*(1/n1+1/n2)

= 0.554545(0.445455)(1/600+1/500) =0.0009058

S.D. of (p1-p2) is 0.0301

(p1-p2) = (0.5833-0.52)

Z = 0.0633 / 0.0301 = 2.1044

With a significance level of 0.05, the critical z

What's your interpretation of the results of this recent Pew survey? http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/2...

I think this is the link you meant to post:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20080623/us...

And I think that folks were probably being a little more flexible in their metaphysical/theological views than they normally are in order to seem less rigid and condemning... but I think there's also a bit of truth in the poll. I think there HAS been a shift and religious folks ARE becoming less exclusive in their mindset.

What's your interpretation of the results of this recent Pew survey? http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/2...
It is more or less accurate. That aspect of the study was featured on the CBS Evening New tonight. It is possible that their method of classifying Christian denominations is somewhat inaccurate; the claim that 57% of Evangelical Christians were willing to accept that theirs might not be the only path to salvation may depend on inclusion of liberal Christians within that definition.
Reply:Again, I do not believe it is accurate. Either they twisted the questions or they twisted the answers. No evangelical is that open minded, and they will tell you that themselves.

I'm creating a survey about I-Step tests and the emphasis put on them, What questions should be asked?

I"m creating a survey about I-Step tests that teachers, parents and principals will take. I'm writing a research paper about the results (along with other information I gather) Do you have any suggestions for questions I should include?

I'm creating a survey about I-Step tests and the emphasis put on them, What questions should be asked?
Two that I would put on would be "Do you, as a parent/educator/principal feel that too much emphasis is places on the results of the ISTEP test?" and "How do you feel as a parent/educator/principal about the move of ISTEP to the spring instead of the fall? Will this help students or hinder them?" Probably throw in a question or two about the length, what they test on, and the long-term effects of the high amount of emphasis that is put on them. It sounds like an interesting subject to learn about and write about, especially because its a safe bet you're affected by these tests as well.

I saw results from a survey on CNBC that said that 76% of Walmart shoppers voted for Geroge Bush, and 80% of..

...people who have never shopped at Walmart voted for the other skull%26amp;bonehead. Is this meaningful? If so, what does it mean?

I saw results from a survey on CNBC that said that 76% of Walmart shoppers voted for Geroge Bush, and 80% of..
It's pretty obvious... really
Reply:one more reason why I NEVER EVER shop at Walmart
Reply:Interesting...

Regardless of weather it is good or bad for America, Walmart is a popular store.

but, ... Al Gore did win the popular vote and Kerry was not too far from doing so as well.

A simpler question comes to mind. What percentage of the active American vote shop at Walmart?

...Just a taught...
Reply:Please post a link to that information, I would like to see it.
Reply:thats dumb
Reply:the poor and the lowly educated who voted for georgie are the white trailer trashes who buy their haute couture at wal mart. should white trailer trashes consider themselves republicans?
Reply:Walmart shoppers can get 50 - 80% discounts if they voted Geroge Bush since Bush is the owner of that Walmart. Those shoppers are clever. Bless America.
Reply:It proves that people who shop at Wal-Mart are freakin' morons.

That place is evil, and bad for America.

It's great for China, though.
Reply:Something's wrong with those numbers. Only about 50% of all eligible voters vote in a US presidential election, so it's impossible for both groups to have voted in the 76-80% range.

But then, it doesn't matter anyway, because the US Supreme Court stole the 2000 presidential election for Dumbya by a vote of 5-4.
Reply:About as meaningful as the other polls. Whenever I see on the news results of polls I say, "Well they didn't ask me."
Reply:No it don't mean anything.
Reply:well, i guess you learn something new everyday. hahaha thats a funny fact. i'm sure it means nothing.
Reply:It shows that most republicans are lower middle class rural Americans. Something that Liberals cannot figure out. It's really simple They are people that were raised to stand on their own two feet and work for a living. Not to ask for handouts from the Government

If Democrats were really for the poor they would be out in the Mid West taking to farmers not in NYC talking to the Times or Detroit talking to the big union leaders. That's why if you look at the county map from the last presidential election almost all rural counties voted Republican
Reply:Many people who shop at walmart are republicans. I don't believe this was a real poll, by the way.
Reply:Is that for real? It hardly seems likely you could get some sort of correlation between shopping at Wal-Mart and the person you vote for.

Anyway, I say, "Down with Wal-Mart!" Too many Americans (USA, Mexico, Canada, Colombia, etc...) are losing their jobs to China. For only a few pennies more, you could be buying something made in Mexico or Colombia. If you'd pay just a little more to buy American, then the money would go to the Americas instead of those Commie's who are plotting our downfall.

Doesn't it make more sense to send your money across the border to a democracy instead of across the sea to somebody who wants our government to collapse?
Reply:It means that the uneducated masses of lesser income are forced to shop at Walmart.

The little education they have doesn't suffice for better paying jobs and doesn't give them enough clout to identify that their vote goes to a moron who is rivaling their own stupidity.

That is about it.

What web site can i go to where i take a survey and then the results tell me what kind of a person i am?

I did a survey and recieved some shocking results...?

20 percent of my school is bisexual, and 14 percent are lesbian and gay.

17.5% consume at least 6-14 alchoholic beverages a week.

What do you think?

I did a survey and recieved some shocking results...?
I doubt that those people answered those questions with they answers they want to give. I doubt 20% of your school is bi; maybe 20% kissed someone of the same sex or is curious and I doubt 14% is gay. I also doubt 17.5% is drinking that much but just want to feel cool by answering that way. I found in school to cut the %s in half to get a more accurate number.
Reply:not surprising today
Reply:the shocking thing is the alchohol consumption :(
Reply:am surprised but maybe they are not sayin the truth

Reply:I wouldn't put a lot of weight in that survey. Kids say things just for the shock factor. Also, most kids don't really know who they are and are just experimenting with different things.

Reply:I wouldnt be surprised, if I took that where I go to school, my school is horrible, it would probably come out to 50 % consume at least 14-18 alcoholic beverages and drugs a day, 30 % do drugs, 18 have committed a crime and have been locked up, and 2 percent are passing and going to college. Its bad .
Reply:is it really important to you who has sex with who?

if someone chooses to have sex with thesame or even opposite sex, that shouldnt have an effect on you. i dont find that shocking at all. its a new generation, its a whole new world out there. and thats just the way it is.

And as for the alchohol...bring on the party! underage drinking is better that people getting hooked on meth.
Reply:I think a bunch of em are consuming over 14 alcoholic beverages a week.
Reply:I would change schools.

Do you want to know the results of Nelly's survey?

Nelly asked us to name our religion and has 58 responses so far.

The religion of R%26amp;S as sampled at a random time:

Christian of some sort: 29.3 %

Atheist: 19%

Other / no clear answer: 19%

Catholic: 8.9%

Pagan/Wicca: 5.2%

Jewish: 5.2%

Buddist: 3.4%

Mormon: 3.4%

Muslim: 3.4%

Agnostic: 3.4%

I rounded up slightly, so it might be a little more than 100%.

Compared to national statistics, Christians are strongly underrepresented on this forum, and atheists are strongly overrepresented. The other statistics (possible underrepresentation in Catholicism) fall within the errors expected for a small survey and correcting for the populations of various religions within English-speaking countries.

Why do you think Christians are so underrepresented? I'll admit, I know a lot of religious people who are simply not willing or able to defend their point of view. Many don't want to argue about it.

Why so many atheists? Is it possible the US population of atheists is much more than we thought?

Do you want to know the results of Nelly's survey?
Interesting question...

I do not know about the USA, but here in Canada most religious denomination "head counts" are provided by the religious organisations themselves, i.e. I am counted as a Catholic even though my belief in all of that is 0%, simply because I was baptised in a Catholic church when I was one month old and did not have anything to say about it. And the Catholic church would still label me a member until I actually initiate a process to formally get out, which takes time (you have to fill out forms and I understand even be visited by a priest who will try to make you change your mind). What is the point of me stating to a non existant god that I do not believe in such non existant deity?

At the same time, in "normal" surveys, it is quite possible that atheists would not like to tell that they are, simply because they do not know who is doing the survey, because they consider this a private matter, and perhaps they do not want to be singled out and be victim of discrimination.

I mean, just look at what brian8907 above wrote: atheists are troll. Is that respectful of other people's opinion? Ever heard of an atheist planting bombs or killing other people because of their faith? About atheists going door to door and annoying people, trying to enrol people in their "faith"?

So, it is quite possible that what this little survey shows is closer to the truth. Which is actually a good thing. Secular humanists do not attack and kill people over matters of faith and are more respectful of others.
Reply:I think it is because there is a minority fundie group that has really pissed off the atheists.

"what does something not designed look like?"

I just had to say I loved this answer with no other way to tell you.
Reply:Atheists like to hang out on the Internet more than most religious people, I suppose.

It is Sunday night; I suppose that most Christians are at church or praying instead of wasting time on the computer.
Reply:No, just us atheists are more tech savvy!
Reply:It is a well known fact that people are leaving the churches in droves,The church has many scandals and abuse and the people are dissatisfied in the church.People are lacking to get spiritually fed so the sheep will leave, one thing Jesus told Peter that if he loved him that he would feed his sheep!!!!!!
Reply:I think it has a lot to do with the fact that most Christians don't spend a lot of time on the internet. Most Christians are middle age and older, while most atheists are younger. I know a lot of older people that don't even have a computer let alone the internet.

Most Christians spend their free time reading their Bible's, at church, or at church functions. Not a lot of time to be here.

I spend the majority of time on Y!A during the weekday's at work. I see a lot more Christians then too.
Reply:I suppose it is possible, however I don't know many Christians who use Yahoo! answers. It could be that people just haven't discovered it yet, but it is interesting how one group is over represented while another is under represented. Maybe something makes atheists more attracted to a service like Yahoo answers.

Another possibility, which if true, is of great concern to me, could be that Christians don't want to hear the opinions of those who are not of the same faith, assuming they have nothing valid to say in the R%26amp;S forums. I am a Christian, and I believe anyone who is not being rude, demeaning, or prejudice has a right to be heard, and think that everyone else should hold the same attitude.
Reply:Eri, it's an international forum....but I think the results point out that the Internet is almost perfectly suited to atheism, whilst religion struggles here.
Reply:Thanks for the e-mail.

I was surprised by some of the numbers. One that was unexpected was the ratio of atheists to agnostics. Could this means that people are becoming more comfortable with being atheist and abandoning the euphemistic and flaccid designation of agnostic?

I think there are a lot of atheists for the converse of why the Christians are under-represented. Atheists base their beliefs, or lack of such, on evidence. That can be more effectively defemded in this kind of forum. The same might not be true in an auditorium. Here, charisma and the ability to win a crowd by personality, humor, or derision is not as effective.

I love this kind of format. To me, it is much like the ancient Greek concept of forum.
Reply:Why in the world did you put Catholicism in a separate category than Christianity, it most certainly is, only fundies will try and deny that.

Seriously look up Catholicism it is a sect of Christianity.
Reply:Could it be that since it is Sunday most Christians are in church or at church functions.
Reply:Your question is very interesting...but I'm not really here to answer it, I'm sorry...I have added you on my contacts,...ane for one reason..because I can't email/IM you or contact you in any way....You answered one of my questions a while ago, and I had a few questions about your answer..If you get a chance, could you email me?

personally, i dont give a f**k what you think.

im tryign to accomplish something and im just seeing if anyone can give me a different answer. i dont need better answers i just want to see if there is any other way. if you cant respectr that then you are just being immature and just plain mean.

get a life and stop trying to put down mine.
Reply:Mormons and Catholics ARE Christians...

AND there are more atheists, because alotof them are trolls and have nothing better to do with their life.

Do I need to discuss sample size and response rate in a research paper based on a convenience sample survey?

I was wondering if anyone had any good links or books to recommend. I am writing up the results of a web-based convenience sample survey and am getting differing advice about whether or not response rate and sample size can/should be discussed. THANKS!

Do I need to discuss sample size and response rate in a research paper based on a convenience sample survey?
The best person to talk to is your faculty advisor. But it is standard practice when you are using survey based research to disclose the sample size and the response rate, because it does influence the reader's perception of the outcome.

For example, if your sample is 8 people who responded out of 400 who were approached, your findings wouldn't carry much weight. If your sample was 98 responses out of 100 queries, it would be much more influential.

Hopefully, We can again be a strong Country where people are moral and have strong beliefs that give us all strength against all odds.
Reply:Low statistics.

Why are you shocked?

Lots of people are bi/gay and nearly every teenager drinks.
Reply:I'm not at all shocked.
Reply:What do I think? Well, in my last two years of High School I was drunk or stoned almost every day and yet I've done pretty well for myself in spite of it. As for the bisexual/lesbian/gay stuff all I can say is hopefully they won't breed. I've never met a so-called bisexual or gay/lesbian that wasn't in some very basic way screwed up in the head! Now that it's socially OK for these screwed up people to identify themselves to each other, they can remove themselves and their defective genes from the pool!
Reply:As those numbers are well out the distribution curve for national (USA) statistics, I must assume your survey was non-scientific in nature. (assuming you mean high school)

What do you believe Needle Exchanges do besides exchange contaminated syringes for sterile ones?

Do you think needle exchange programs are helpful in fighting HIV/AIDS?

Survey results needed for finals -- Please answer!!!?
What is the first thought that comes to mind when you think of the phrase "Needle Exchange Program"? Knitting needles???? i dunno

What do you believe Needle Exchanges do besides exchange contaminated syringes for sterile ones? ohhh ok now i know what your talking about. They probably have information available to the drug users on hiv/aids, drug abuse....etc

Do you think needle exchange programs are helpful in fighting HIV/AIDS? Yes, even if one life is saved it is worth it. I don't judge people especially if I have never walked a day in their shoes. Even if it is one homeless person or one prostitute who is saved then it is worth it, because I could be that homeless person or hooker one day.
Reply:HIV/AIDS is the first thing that comes to my mind. Always use the disposable needles for your safety. !!!

Nothing

Well, it can't hurt. If only one person is prevented from contracting aids, then think of all the people that that one person could/would infect. I am sure that more than one person has been saved by the programs and has avoided infecting others because of it.
Reply:1) The first thought that comes to my mind when I think of the Needle Exchange Program would be "prevention".

2) I believe that the program offers an opportunity for drug users to exchange their used needles one-on-one with sterile ones. I also believe that when you have face to face contact with a user, you then have the ability to talk with them, counsel them and hopefully provide them with much needed information in an effort to help them OFF the drugs.

3) I believe that this program can help in fighting HIV/AIDs if people are properly trained and work with the system and if research is conducted and made available to determine changes in individuals who receive these needles. I also believe that the community and clergy must be involved in order to help these individuals. I think that if you are a true drug addict - and needles are provided to you in exchange for your dirty needles - 1) they know who you are 2) it's still illegal 3) Drug-free is where your desire should be. I can't see a person looking at you face to face and 'giving' you a new needle without some shame and guilt. I would think you would want to be off drugs and here is that chance. The hope is that dirty needles are taken off the street and disposed of properly and our children and others are not contaminated.
Reply:dumb and dumber poking eachother. first dumb. then dumber pokes dumb. the dumb pokes dumber.
Reply:AIDS/HIV program

promotes a way to try to remain AIDS/HIV free without attempting to correct the illegal drug use (something that hasn't proved effective)

Yes...it has proven to be very effective.
Reply:Q. What is the first thought that comes to mind when you think of the phrase "Needle Exchange Program"?

A. What's that?

Q. What do you believe Needle Exchanges do besides exchange contaminated syringes for sterile ones?

A. I don't know. Maybe provide information.

Q. Do you think needle exchange programs are helpful in fighting HIV/AIDS?

A. I don't know how effective the program is, but it doesn't hurt, I'm sure.

What does it mean when someone says 'Topline Results'?

Someone is asking me to get the topline results from a survey, and I'm unsure to which ones are those, or what that means EXACTLY.

What does it mean when someone says 'Topline Results'?
It means cut out all the detail and give the basics. You need to produce something like the intrduction to a book but in figures rather than words - so the reader gets a good overview without having to read pages and pages e.g.

I sent a marketing mailing to 500,000 people the other weeka nd i could split the results 100's of ways but if asked for a topline view i would put:

Date Mailed = XXX

Volume = XXX

Response = XXX

Average order Value = XXX

Total Sales = XXX

Total Costs = XXX

Cost to Sales Ratio = XX:XX

This gives the reader a TOTAL view of the mailing without going into pages of detail about customer segments etc.
Reply:I believe it means they want you to get the best results from the survey. Top of the line is Best just as in bartending Top Shelf means the best and most expensive liquor.

You may be surprised at the results of a survey for the 10?

least religious countries in the world.

1. Sweden (up to 85% non-believer, atheist, agnostic)

2. Vietnam

3. Denmark

4. Norway

5. Japan

6. Czech Republic

7. Finland

8. France

9. South Korea

10. Estonia (up to 49% non-believer, atheist, agnostic)

Surprisingly, number 19th was Israel with 37% claiming to be non-believers. The United States ranked 44th. The survey concluded that "high levels of organic atheism are strongly correlated with high levels of societal health, such as low homicide rates, low poverty rates, low infant mortality rates, and low illiteracy rates, as well as high levels of educational attainment, per capita income, and gender equality. Most nations characterized by high degrees of individual and societal security have the highest rates of organic atheism, and conversely, nations characterized by low degrees of individual and societal security have the lowest rates of organic atheism. Are you surprise ?

You may be surprised at the results of a survey for the 10?
No, I'm not surprised, and I found the correlations particularly telling. I lived in Japan for eight years. For most Japanese, religion is at the throw-a-coin-in-the-fountain-and-wish superstitious level. They make a 5-minute stop at the local Shinto temple, clap their hands to call the gods, bow as they make a wish(I mean pray), throw a yen coin in the collection bin, and depart.

I would like you to add your source so that I can research further. I'd like to know what countries are MORE religious than the U.S. I assume these will include most Islamic countries because being a non-believer is just not allowed and in fact is punishable(even by death) in many of them. It's dangerous to come out of the closet as a non-believer in the U.S, but it's much more dangerous in most Islamic countries.
Reply:Maybe I should move to Sweden
Reply:I am not surprised at all. Thanks for the information.
Reply:I believe it shows that once you throw away dogma, you can move forward towards alleviating societies ills.
Reply:Woah, I wasn't expecting France. Where was Switzerland ranked?
Reply:I'm not surprised in the least. Furthermore, I would note that its not a case of societal standing affecting religious ties, but the lack of dependency on external authorities positively affecting the individual condition, thus improving society.

However, it must be dually noted that this change originates from the individual, and cannot be forced upon anyone. Meaning the upper percentile of religious peoples are not ready to be their own master, so unfortunately society as a whole still depends on the religious canon to protect us from those unwilling to be their own authority.

Look at the top 5 countries. Three of these countries are totally liberal, allowing rampant drug use, sex with children, and homosexuality. This is a negative affect on society, and proof that we are not yet ready for total freedom. Moreover it taints the numbers on societal health, and raises the question of what the studies definition of societal health is.

It is a prime example of individual evolution and its affects on society. Yes, we need to break free of our oppressive religions and governments. But we cannot discard our own morality in the process.

I to would like to have a link to this study if you will?
Reply:Nope, not surprised at all.

Survey: When you get test results back from the Dr. and they're not good, who do you call first?

Survey: When you get test results back from the Dr. and they're not good, who do you call first?
It's a toss up between Mom and Daughter. It's easier to get hold of my daughter because I can call her at work. My mom of course is more compassionate and I go back in years when I needed her shoulder to cry on and still even at my age need it again.

Last major thing that happened my mom got the first call though.
