What does it mean when someone says 'Topline Results'?

Someone is asking me to get the topline results from a survey, and I'm unsure to which ones are those, or what that means EXACTLY.

What does it mean when someone says 'Topline Results'?
It means cut out all the detail and give the basics. You need to produce something like the intrduction to a book but in figures rather than words - so the reader gets a good overview without having to read pages and pages e.g.

I sent a marketing mailing to 500,000 people the other weeka nd i could split the results 100's of ways but if asked for a topline view i would put:

Date Mailed = XXX

Volume = XXX

Response = XXX

Average order Value = XXX

Total Sales = XXX

Total Costs = XXX

Cost to Sales Ratio = XX:XX

This gives the reader a TOTAL view of the mailing without going into pages of detail about customer segments etc.
Reply:I believe it means they want you to get the best results from the survey. Top of the line is Best just as in bartending Top Shelf means the best and most expensive liquor.
Reply:www.qpsmr.co.uk/summary_reports.htm (try that see if that puts u in right direction)
