And I think that folks were probably being a little more flexible in their metaphysical/theological views than they normally are in order to seem less rigid and condemning... but I think there's also a bit of truth in the poll. I think there HAS been a shift and religious folks ARE becoming less exclusive in their mindset.

It is more or less accurate. That aspect of the study was featured on the CBS Evening New tonight. It is possible that their method of classifying Christian denominations is somewhat inaccurate; the claim that 57% of Evangelical Christians were willing to accept that theirs might not be the only path to salvation may depend on inclusion of liberal Christians within that definition.
Reply:Again, I do not believe it is accurate. Either they twisted the questions or they twisted the answers. No evangelical is that open minded, and they will tell you that themselves.
