How to weight data in SPSS?

I have survey results where the male respondents are fewer than expected, therefore I wish to give each male a weight of 1.35

How do I do this in SPSS?

Step by step please!

How to weight data in SPSS?
Assuming that you want to weight every women by 1... You have to create a variable were has values of 1.35 when being a male and 1 when being a female. The variable must be completely full, that is, it doesn't have to be any missing case. Then, you have to go to 'Data', 'Weight Cases', and then indicate the variables you indicates.

Finally, a display in the right-down corner of the screen should appear saying 'Weigh On'. Then, you can compute any statistic you might want to calculate. But you must be careful of using any other statistics modeling, that weighting may cause you to state wrong conclusions. For that, there are special procedures, called "Complex samples SPSS Module".

Good luck!
