Survey for teens?

1.) what stereotypes does the media hold in terms of body image?

2.)do thsese stereotypes place any pressure on adolescents?

3.)if so,why? if not,why not?

thank you to all of you who help me this is for a clas project and i need to write an essay on the results of my survey.

Survey for teens?
1.) what stereotypes does the media hold in terms of body image?

(some of) The media tells us that to be beautiful, we have to be thin, and wear certain clothes, and have this hair color, and be tall with long legs, etc., etc.

2.)do thsese stereotypes place any pressure on adolescents?

It can place some pressure on adults who aren't so secure, but it seems to affect teens and young adults the most.

3.)if so,why? if not,why not?

Eh, not really sure. Like I said, the one's who aren't so secure do, because they don't realize that they're fine with who they are; and teens usually don't have the highest self-esteem unless they fit in with the mold.
Reply:1) that everyone needs to be beautiful and thin and thats the best way to be.

2) i think it does. there are teens everywhere who are anorexic because they see thin people are the happy people

3) everyone whnts to fit in and thats the way media shows us we need to be to fit in
Reply:1. you have to be thin, and skinny because it makes you 'perfect'

2. yes very much so.

3. many teenagers and myself want to be come skinny even though they have the right weight, they just want to be skinnier.
