Why are average penis size results higher in self-measurement surveys than in academic and scientific studies?

Social desirability effect - people want to sound better than they may actually be. In this case, men may report that they're bigger than they actually are.

Why are average penis size results higher in self-measurement surveys than in academic and scientific studies?
Cause men tend to lie.
Reply:do you think a guy who has a 3 inch penis is actually gonna admit to having a 3 inch penis???

my gosh, is there even any such thing as having a 3 inch penis ???
Reply:Because everyone likes to claim they are bigger than they actually are...
Reply:Because people will lie about it all the time.
Reply:Because, relying on self-reporting of penis size is problematic, since some patients exaggerate or are unable or unwilling to measure the penis correctly. Also men who participate in these types of surveys often do not worry about there penis size so if there is a male that is a little embarassed there tends to be more exaggeration.
Reply:It's one of life's great unfathomable mysteries.

Not
Reply:Because academic and scientific studies lie.
Reply:think about it
Reply:Maybe they are "excited" about taking the measurement...lol
Reply:Can you elaborate? ;)
Reply:LOL
Reply:men start the measuring at there buttholes
Reply:dont worry about that
Reply:Because given the task, most men will measure underneath the penis and over the scrotum, as far as the anus!
Reply:man, has a tendency to dream big and exaggerate., especially about that.
Reply:WHAT? Wait, you mean I'm NOT supposed to count the roll of quarters into the length of my penis? Oops.
Reply:because no guy wants to be told his dick is smaller than what he was bragging about to his buddies. (and i knw idiots like that)
Reply:i dont know, probably they use a different measuring tape...lol!
Reply:I'm wondering who signs up to be the measurer in that survey.
Reply:Gee, I wonder...
